PROJECT BRIEF
Shelby Creative Studio is owned by freelance artist, Shelby Theis-Lukenbill. Shelby is a professional artist located in Springfield, Missouri. Her business was formerly Theis Design, however after acquiring a broader skillset in graduate school and a new last name, Shelby decided it was time for a complete rebrand.
Shelby does it all. From tattoo designs to murals. Shelby is in need of a brand identity package that suggests her broad set of skills and showcases her fun, friendly, easy-going, and feminine personality.

LOGO INSPIRATION
When researching feminine designs, I came across the Barbie Logo. I appreciated the diagonal orientation, and the curvilinear letterforms. I wanted to incorporate some of this directional force into this logo while still maintaining an overall grounded feeling to the wordmark.

LINEAR STYLE MARK
For this logo, I wanted to create a extension of Shelby’s former logo for Theis Design on the right (created by a different designer). I utilized a similar linear style, but placed in a fatter typeface as it seemed my client had an interest in thicker type based on our moodboard consultation.
