PROJECT BRIEF

For this project, my client needed me to take his existing logo, and “clean it up” along with updating stationary designs. The old logo (created by a different designer) lacked geometrical balance. The original designer used typeface Gotham Black which I decided to stick with, as I thought the bold and straightforward type was a great choice for a law firm. The characters in the monogram did not resemble the characters in the word mark. The monogram looked as though it was drawn intuitively. This created a dissonance within the design. When recreating the monogram I manipulated Gotham Black’s J & P to preserve the integrity of the typeface and trust the expertise of the typographer who created the font family.

LOGO REVISIONS

After the first round of feedback, my client wanted to see a version of the primary logo with a square instead of an oval, as well as a box around the monogram. He also wanted to see what the J might look like without the added diagonal line. Below are my original revisions next to revision updates to compare and contrast.

ENVELOPE DESIGN

Red is a color that attracts the most attention and sends a signal of importance to viewers. I chose this color as my client may be mailing invoices or important trial information to his clientele base. An eye catching color and design will make it less likely for clients to lose, misplace, or procrastinate on payment.
